Tommy Trask
Chief Executive Officer
Tom Trask was born in Mansfield, PA where he lived until he went to college at the University of Kentucky. After receiving a BS in electrical engineering from University of Kentucky, he joined the US Air Force and served for 11 years, including assignments in San Antonio, Dayton, Boston and the Pentagon. While in Dayton, he received an MS in Systems Management from the Air Force Institute of Technology.
After the Air Force, Tom started his tax and accounting practice in Herndon, VA. He obtained his Enrolled Agent certification to practice before the IRS soon thereafter and has held and relinquished the Certified Financial Planner designation as well as various securities licenses. Tom completed a second MS – this one in Finance from the College for Financial Planning.
Tax preparation and planning for both personal and small business clients constitute the bulk of the work for National Capital Corporation. Over the years, he has assisted with the formation of numerous corporations and partnerships as well as the liquidation of entities. He has also assisted with selling family businesses to the next generation, establishing custom-tailored pension plans, unwrapping defective stock purchases by pension plans, and recharacterizing a stock purchase as an asset purchase. After 40 years practicing accounting, Tom has experienced most of the ordinary tax issues and several of the more exotic and exciting situations.
While Tom has transitioned out of directly providing services to clients but will continue to provide advice, consultation, and mentoring to our employees.
Hugo Brandts, CPA
Chief Operating Officer
Hugo Brandts was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota and grew up in Arlington, Virginia. He currently lives in Springfield, PA outside of Philadelphia. He received a BS in Accounting from Virginia Tech and an MBA in Finance from Drexel University,
Hugo passed the CPA exam in Virginia and was employed for several years at a CPA firm in the Washington, DC area performing audits and providing tax services to government contractors, trade associations, professional trades and individuals.
Subsequently, he was Controller in a leading national service company headquartered in Philadelphia, and was a Manager-Finance for a Sony Music’s manufacturing division helping manage the accounting, internal controls, system enhancements and upgrades for the division.
In 2010, he returned to public practice as Hugo Brandts CPA, Tax and Accounting Services and had clients in 8 states. In early 2014, he served as a “Pro Tax Advisor” for TurboTax and served as a subject matter expert on Federal Taxes for a company that developed training material for candidates of the IRS Enrolled Agent’s test.
Joining National Capital Corporation in early 2017, Hugo brings thirty-five years of experience in the accounting and tax fields to individuals and small business.
Erica Garcia Junco
Systems Specialist
Erica is our Admin Assistant and has worked for NCC for about 7 years. She is instrumental in managing and controlling our software systems and in the implementation and training of these systems and process workflows.

Kristin is our Senior Tax Preparer and prepares both individual and business tax returns. She has about 25 years of experience in banking and tax preparation and is a key member of our professional staff.
